RapidAPI

Coming from RapidAPI?

Dataloom APIs will soon require a free Dataloom API key on every request through RapidAPI. It takes about a minute to create, and your RapidAPI subscription stays exactly as it is.

Setup

Three steps.

01

Create a free account

In the Dataloom console — about a minute, no credit card.

02

Generate your API key

One key works for RapidAPI requests and direct gateway calls alike.

03

Add it to your RapidAPI setup

Paste the key into the Token field on the Authorizations tab of your RapidAPI subscription.

First request

Add one header.

rapidapi.sh
curl "https://YOUR_API_HOST.p.rapidapi.com/website-insights/v2/all-insights?url=reddit.com" \
  -H "X-RapidAPI-Key: YOUR_RAPIDAPI_KEY" \
  -H "X-RapidAPI-Host: YOUR_API_HOST.p.rapidapi.com" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $DATALOOM_API_KEY"

// YOUR_API_HOST comes from the code snippets on your RapidAPI subscription

FAQ

Quick answers.

Why do RapidAPI requests need a Dataloom key?

The key tells the gateway which Dataloom account is behind each request. It is free, works across the whole catalogue, and keeps your usage in one dashboard.

What happens if I don’t add one?

Once the requirement switches on, requests without a valid Dataloom key are rejected with HTTP 401. Your RapidAPI subscription is untouched — add the key and calls work again immediately.

Do I pay Dataloom as well as RapidAPI?

No. RapidAPI keeps billing your subscription; the Dataloom key adds no charge. If you ever call the direct gateway, those calls use your Dataloom credits — 250 free every month.

Add your key before the switch.
